With its headquarter in Munich, Germany, EPCOS came form Siemens Matsushita, it concentrated the advantages of industrial electronic from Siemens and consumer electronics from Matsushita, established at 1989. EPCOS group is one of the biggest electronic components manufactures in the world. TDK-EPC Corporation was established in Japan on October 1, 2009, as a result of carving out one of the core business activities of TDK Corporation, namely the passive electronic components business. TDK and EPCOS will complement and mutually reinforce their position, while augmenting areas that formerly were somewhat underrepresented.

It is TS16949:2002 and ISO14001:2004-certified, and has about 3,000 employees. Main products are film capacitors, power factor correction capacitors, leaded varistors, energy varistors, strap and block varistors, ICL, sensors and NTC sensors. Its registered capital is USD 15,000,000 and total investment USD 45,000,000.
