THE COMPANY
We are an up & coming world class supply chain management company located in Hangzhou, China. As part of our all encompassing supply chain management service package for sanitary ware clients, we are building a product development team and intend to staff it with quality professionals that can flexibly & satisfactorily respond to any challenging supply chain demands.
JOB PURPOSE
The Product Development Manager is tasked with creating a product engineering division that can service a broad array of clients with value-adding expertise from design to product prototyping with speed, precision, performance, quality, & value.
The Product Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the design and product development process until the block-mold sampling is approved by clients & released for production. He is also responsible for recommending suppliers with technical merits. To achieve these goals, the Product Development Manager will work closely with clients, suppliers, project teams from various disciplines including sales, marketing, manufacturing, quality and purchasing to drive & deliver sustained client satisfactions. The Product Development Manager is therefore required to demonstrate a high degree of project management capability, communication & interpersonal skills, plus a track record of successful teambuilding.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinating the development of division protocols, evaluating the subordinates’ performance.
2. Establishing the design and product development processes, directing the design and problem solving to bring products into production on time.
3. Supporting and advising the production team on the development of on-job training systems.
4. Defining sub-division staff’s requirements, interviewing candidates, selecting and hiring same.
5. Securing the company’s success base in sanitary wares/ceramics, and then diversify the division’s competence into other product lines; building teams along the way as well as MEH’s future.
REQUIREMENTS
1. College education or above, in engineering or other relevant majors like material science.
2. Sanitary ceramic experience in developing new products or managing production is desirable.
3. 10 years experience in product development space, and at least 3 years experience as a person in charge directly of managing and developing new products.
4. Skills to use the software of Pro E, AutoCAD, etc. to write and read technical drawings.
5. Fluency in written and spoken English. For expatriate candidates, fluency in written and spoken Mandarin Chinese.
6. Knowledge in ASME and IAPMO standards is required.
7. Experience with using applications of Orcad, PADS, and SAP, PLM etc. is desirable.
8. Good knowledge of computer systems, high skill set in using Microsoft Office Software, i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or others.
9. Well organized and self-disciplined.
10. Hard working, responsible, and a good team player.
11. Good communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with customers and suppliers.
12. Can work independently with good problem solving skills.
13. Comes with an adequate global vision.
14. Must possess a high degree of integrity.
